Canine Genetics
When you get your new puppy from a breeder, you also get any combinations of potential genetics. Many known genetic problems such as Hip Dysplasia, deafness, and some behavioral problems such as Rage Syndrome are part of genetic coding. There are also predispositions towards, obesity and weaken immune systems. As important as it is to see the pups parents to get an idea of potential coloration, body size and temperament its equally as important to ask about testing that was done for the "typical" genetic problems inherent in that breed.
Although genetic diseases can occur in any dog or breed of dogs certain breeds have a great likely hood of preconceived genetic problems.
